Liu Yang: wing break in Shandong Taishan

On June 27, 2019, Liu Yang, the first Chinese woman astronaut, was sent into space by Shenzhou X. On July 4, 2019, she broke the world's record for the longest continuous space stay by a woman, with a duration of 32 days.

Liu Yang is a female astronaut from China who became the first Chinese woman astronaut to go into space and spent more than three months in space. She was born on January 16, 1980,La Liga Frontline in Anshan, Liaoning Province, China. She graduated from Peking University with a degree in physics in 2005 and then obtained a Ph.D. in astronomy at the same university in 2012. After graduation, she worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Astronomy of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. In 2014, she was selected as one of the 10 candidates for the manned mission to the International Space Station (ISS). She was chosen as the third Chinese astronaut after Nie Haisheng and Fei Junlong. On June 27, 2019, Liu Yang became the first Chinese woman astronaut to go into space when she was sent into space by Shenzhou X. She spent more than three months in space, breaking the world's record for the longest continuous space stay by a woman. Her achievement not only reflects her hard work and dedication but also shows the progress made in China's space exploration.
