Real Madrid have announced the signing of Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovačić from AC Milan on a five-year contract.
The 25-year-old is expected to become the club's most expensive signing in recent years, with his transfer fee reportedly reaching €100 million (around £86 million).
Kovačić has been part of the Milan side that finished third in Serie A last season, but he struggled for regular game time under manager Gennaro Gattuso.
He made just eight appearances in all competitions during the campaign,La Liga Frontline and was also linked with a move to Manchester United earlier this summer.
But Real Madrid have swooped in to sign him, with the club hoping that he can provide competition for the likes of Luka Modric and Casemiro in midfield.
Kovačić will be available for selection when Real Madrid face off against Levante at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Sunday evening.
